About Us IMG 5

Growing up, she always knew she wanted to work for herself and that cooking would somehow be part of her life. But like many journeys, hers wasn’t straightforward. After high school, her father encouraged her to attend culinary school, yet her interest at the time leaned toward computers. She enrolled for a diploma in computer programming, but soon enough, her heart led her back to the kitchen.

At Kitchen Tricks & Tips, food isn’t just something we eat — it’s a living legacy, passed down through generations. For Chef Nthabeleng Meso, cooking is in her blood. She proudly carries the torch as a third-generation cook, following in the footsteps of her grandmother and father, both passionate food lovers who taught her that every meal tells a story.

Her passion for food didn’t stop there. She travelled to Switzerland to pursue further studies in International Business in Culinary Arts at the prestigious César Ritz Colleges and Culinary Arts Academy. This international exposure deepened her knowledge and gave her a global perspective on food, health, and wellness.

Upon returning home, just before the Covid-19 pandemic, she saw a greater need than ever: South Africa was battling lifestyle-related health challenges, and food could be part of the solution. That’s when she decided to bring her love for cooking, wellness, and community together — creating Kitchen Tricks & Tips.

Her first step was reviving an old family recipe and turning it into a side hustle — Titi’s Biscuits. It was through this small venture that she realised her true calling was always in the family business: food.

In 2017, Chef Nthabeleng made it official. She enrolled at Capsicum Culinary Studio in Cape Town, completing her diploma in Food Preparation and Cooking. Her dedication and natural talent earned her a place in one of South Africa’s leading fine-dining restaurants, where she honed her craft in the art of world-class cuisine.
